L.D. is no stranger to the stage having performed all over the United States. Most recently as a member of the all male modern dance company, EDGEWORKS Dance Theater, at the National Performers Network’s Annual Conference in Knoxville, TN, American Dance Institute in Rockville, MD, and The Kennedy Center in Washington DC.

From 2003-2006 he found his home in Anaheim, Ca where he was a dancer in Aladdin “A Musical Spectacular” at the Disney California Adventure Park. During that time he also was a core member of Word In Motion Dance Company under the artistic direction of Tymme and Aury Reitz.

He has had the distinct honor of performing Sentinel, Flying Lesson, Big Sleeves, Naked Shoulders, White Moutain, and Blind Date by the late David Berkey, as well as works by Armando Duarte, Charlotte Adams, Jeffrey Bullock, Cecil Slaughter, and Helanius J. Wilkins.

He has taught and choreographed at several Studios and Universities including; Synthesis Performing Arts Studio in Los Angeles, CA; Lou Conte Dance Studio in Chicago, IL; Terpsichore Dance Company in Louisville, KY; Ball State University in Muncie, IN; and at Ballet Quad Cities in Rock Island, IL.

Lovar is currently based out of Cedar Rapids, IA where he is the founder and artistic director of MOvMNT Dance Company. L.D. is also a freelance choreographer, as well as an adjunct professor of Hip Hop/Jazz dance at the University of Iowa.

JENNIFER WEBER

Sunday- Ballet Technique

Jennifer Weber recently received her MFA in Dance from the University of Iowa where she performed, choreographed, and taught. Ms. Weber is a native of Omaha, NE and began her dance training at Ballet Omaha under the direction of Robin Welch. She has performed internationally at the Shizuoka Ballet Festival in Japan. She joined the ranks of Omaha Theater Company’s professional company in 1999 and danced with them for three seasons, while completing her Bachelor of Art in mathematics, graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

While in Omaha, she performed in a variety of pieces such as Balanchine’s Valse Fantasy, Norman Walker’s Prayer and Fantasie, The Nutcracker, and Coppélia. She has also danced with Opera Omaha and the Omaha Symphony. Upon joining the ranks of Ballet Quad Cities in 2002 to 2008, Ms. Weber danced in many of Johanne Jakhelln’s original works, including Lyric for Strings, Edith in From the Pages of a Young Girl’s Life, Violette Fairy in Sleeping Beauty, and enjoyed being featured in Interim Artistic Director Matthew Keefe’s works of The Nutcracker and the Pas de Trois from Danses Concertantes. Ms. Weber was co-director of Ballet Quad Cities II, the youth performing group, as well as taught ballet and pointe for Ballet Quad Cities School of Dance. She has taught dance through the Midwest. She currently teaches in the Iowa City area, is guest dancing with Ballet Nebraska, and is a certified yoga teacher.
