Our Vision
MOvMNT Dance Company will enrich Iowa and the surrounding Midwest states by promoting dance and providing dance education and performance opportunities, for young and old alike. Through programs including unique multi-media, & multi-cultural theatrical productions, workshops, and classes, presented in traditional and non-traditional venues, MDC will:
- Define through our vision, how dance can help foster the next generation of proud dancers, and supporters of dance, from Eastern Iowa.
- Accept that the current offerings in Iowa’s Cultural Corridor can be expanded upon and MOvMNT Dance Company is the organization to make that a reality.
- Nurture interest and talent in dance as a means to develop confidence, self-esteem, cooperation, discipline, creativity, originality, and vitality.
- Contribute to the building of cultural and community identities while working against barriers that impede participation in dance.
- Encourage literacy in dance as a key educational goal, as central to an educated citizenry as reading, math, and science.
