MOvMNT Dance Company, a Contemporary and Hip-Hop Performance based Company, was founded by Cedar Rapids native Lovar Davis Kidd in August of 2007 and incorporated in the state of Iowa in May of 2008 after several years of planning and discovery.
MOvMNT Dance Company is split into four separate companies; Kids (6-9 years of age); Youth (10-13 years of age), Junior (14-17 years of age), and Adult (18 & Up).
Rehearsal and Class Schedule:
Sunday
- Kids & Youth Company Rehearsal- 2-4 PM
- Company Class 4-5:30 PM (Open)
- Junior & Adult Company Rehearsal- 5:30-7:30 PM
All company members must participate in company class, as well as be available for all company rehearsals. The cost of be a company member is $75 per month. MDC offers full, half, and partial scholarships for those that qualify.
MOvMNT Dance Company does not take up a lot of your time, so dedication is very important and greatly appreciated. Those dancers that are on their studios competition teams are encouraged NOT to audition for MDC unless you are able to commit to our Sunday class and rehearsal times.
Current MDC members come from Cedar Rapids, Davenport, Hiawatha, Shellsburg, and Vinton. Company members perform throughout the Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, and Quad Cities areas, and are available to travel throughout the US.
MOvMNT Dance Company is a certified 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
